Man Utd news: Donny van de Beek loan details emerge as honest Amad assessment offered

The final day of the January transfer window looks like it might be a busy one for Manchester United.

But primarily because of outgoings.

The Red Devils found form before the current break and some supporters would have been keen to see the club dip into the market to capitalise on that momentum. Instead, interim boss Ralf Rangnick is likely to focus on the players currently at the club and getting more from them.

Mirror Sport has the latest United headlines to kickstart the final day of the window, including details on a significant departure, a youngster shining on loan and a history-making outing.

Van de Beek set to join Everton

After struggling for minutes during almost the entirety of his time in Manchester, Van de Beek looks poised to join Everton on the final day of the window.

The Toffees are set to appoint Frank Lampard as their new boss and are in need of midfield reinforcements after an injury to Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Under both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Rangnick, the former Ajax man has been unable to force his way into the team on a regular basis and he will be desperate to show what he can do with regular minutes on the field.

Eventually the game finished in a thrilling 3-3 and although he saw his side concede a 96th-minute equaliser, Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst has plenty of praise for the young forward.

"You could see his quality," Van Bronckhorst said post-match. "He made the first goal, he was very good in the space at the back post.

"You can see what he can give to the team. He’s got the talent but we had to take him off because he didn't have the rhythm like other players have."

Solskjaer makes history

Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer watched on on Sunday as his daughter Karna made her debut for the club.

The forward was brought on with three minutes remaining of the team's FA Cup clash with Bridgewater United, which United won 2-0.

Her appearance makes Ole Gunnar and Karna the first father-daughter combination to represent the club.

"It was deserved from the performance that I saw the other day, so congratulations to her," said manager Mark Skinner afterwards. "Obviously she's got a famous dad but she wants to be famous in her own right."
