Donny van de Beek breaks silence after absence from dramatic Everton win

Manchester United loanee Donny van de Beek has broken his silence after missing Everton's dramatic win over Newcastle United.

The Dutchman was absent from the matchday squad to face the resurgent Magpies through illness. In a fiercely competitive clash, the match sprung into life in the second half as a fan cable-tied himself to the Everton post resulting in 14 minutes of stoppage time, Allan then saw red for a cynical foul on the halfway line before Alex Iwobi in the ninth minute of added time fired the Toffees to an important three points.

Frank Lampard's side edge closer to Premier League survival as they teeter on the edge of the danger zone with Norwich, Burnley and Watford all vying to beat the drop. Van de Beek missed the clash but sent a message to his teammates after the win.
