Manchester United loanee Ethan Galbraith missed Doncaster Rovers' impressive 2-1 win over Sunderland on Saturday due to an ongoing calf problem, manager Gary McSheffrey has confirmed.
The United youngster, who joined Rovers on loan for the season back in August, was a notable absentee from Rovers' matchday squad as they served up one of the shocks of the season so far in League One, winning 2-1 at the Stadium of Light.
The South Yorkshire outfit have experienced a miserable campaign so far and currently find themselves sitting bottom of the table and eight points from safety.
Galbraith was advised to miss the trip to Wearside in order to rest after initially suffering the injury during Rovers' 2-1 defeat to Wigan Athletic last month.
Confirming that the midfielder had been in discussion with United physios, Rovers chief McSheffrey is expecting him to miss Tuesday evening's tussle with Ipswich Town as well.
"Ethan has still got that niggling calf problem," McSheffrey told the Doncaster Free Press. "When I spoke on Thursday, it was fine. But he reported it to the physio after training.
"He's spoken to his physios at Manchester United and he feels about a week off will do him the world of good.
"That's what the plan is so I think he'll miss Ipswich as well."
Since joining the League One club in the summer, Galbraith, who joined United back in 2017, has racked up 29 appearances in all competitions, netting one goal - a stunner against Cambridge United back in October.
