Donald Trump tried to pressure Mike Pence to overturn his 2020 presidential election defeat despite being repeatedly told he had no authority to do so, a congressional panel heard on Thursday.
Aides to the former vice president were speaking to the January 6 select committee, which is seeking to establish if Mr Trump’s election fraud claims directly led to an attack on the US Capitol.
