Tonight, Donald Trump has planned his own counter programming strategy for President Biden's State of the Union address. Instead of watching Biden's speech, Trump will be engaging in real-time social media posts to provide his responses. This tactic, although not expected to draw as large an audience as Biden's speech, holds significance as Trump is now the presumptive Republican nominee and will face Biden in the upcoming election.

While Speaker Johnson has urged decorum and respect towards Biden within the chamber, it is anticipated that Trump's responses may lack such courtesy. A super PAC aligned with Trump has already released an ad questioning Biden's age and mental fitness, themes likely to feature prominently in the upcoming election cycle.
