Donald Trump 'surprised' at Prince Harry's Coronation attendance after 'horrible' book

Donald Trump has admitted to being "surprised" Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were invited to King Charles' Coronation as he brands them "very disrespectful".

The former US president explained his shock that Harry received an invite to the celebrations taking place on Saturday 6 May, following the release of his book Spare.

Donald has branded Harry's claims "horrible", after the Prince detailed bombshell revelations about the Royal Family in his tell-all memoir.

Harry discussed an alleged fight with his brother Prince William as well as his relationship with his stepmother, Queen Camilla.

“I was actually surprised that Harry was invited to be honest.

“He said some terrible things…the book [Spare] was just...to me, it was horrible," Trump told Nigel Farage in a GB News interview.

The 45th president also revealed he thought Meghan had been “very disrespectful” to the late Queen Elizabeth II, before she and Prince Harry stepped down as senior working royals in 2020.

“I think she [Meghan] has been very disrespectful to the Queen,” he said.

“How can you be so disrespectful to the Queen? She was incredible, for decades and decades she never made a mistake. I cannot think of a mistake she made, she was never controversial.”

Trump added: “She went through years and decades without controversy. You cannot be disrespectful to her and I think Meghan was very disrespectful to her, very disrespectful.”

Despite his thoughts on Prince Harry, Donald believes the Coronation will be a "great day" and King Charles and Queen Camilla “will do a great job”.

It's not the first time the former president has called out Prince Harry and Meghan, as last year he predicted their marriage will "end bad".

Trump, who described himself as a "very good predictor", made his prophesy during a TalkTV interview with Piers Morgan and added that he thought Harry would get bored or Meghan would start liking "some other guy better".

He went on to label the Duke an "embarrassment" and a "whipped man", while arguing that his failure to attend Prince Philip 's memorial service was a "terrible thing".

Last month it was confirmed Prince Harry will attend his father's Coronation, while Meghan will remain in California with her two children to celebrate Archie's fourth birthday which also falls on May 6.

The Coronation will be Harry's first appearance in a public setting with Charles, Camilla, William and Kate since he criticised them in his memoir, Spare, which was published in January.

Yesterday, the Royal Family came together to rehearse their roles for the Westminster Abbey service, with the Prince and Princess of Wales spotted taking their children George, Charlotte and Louis into the historic building.

The run through was especially important for Prince George, who has a starring role in the two-hour ceremony on Saturday.
