Former President Donald Trump has selected JD Vance as his running mate, a move that has garnered attention due to Vance's previous relationship with Trump and his understanding of Trump's voter base. Vance, a 39-year-old Ohio senator, was once known as a 'Trump whisperer' for his ability to connect with the former president's supporters.

Vance gained national recognition with the release of his memoir 'Hillbilly Elegy' in 2016. Despite initially being a 'Never Trump' Republican, Vance has since aligned himself closely with Trump and embraced his brand of Republican populist politics.
