Donald Trump is coming back to Ireland.
The Irish Mirror revealed this morning that former US President will stay at his five-star golf resort, Doonbeg, in Co Clare for a two to three day visit to play golf.
He is expected to touch down in a private jet sometime from August 25th and will leave the country again before August 30th.
Things will be a lot different to his last stay here in 2019.
He is no longer President, there's a new Taoiseach and we've had a massive pandemic in the meantime, but we shouldn't forget that there were a number of hairy moments on his last trip to Ireland.
Border slip up
The then-President met then-and-future Taoiseach Leo Varadkar at an unplanned press conference after touching down.
Naturally, Brexit was a major talking point for the pair - but it only took Trump a few minutes to cause a bit of a problem for the Fine Gael leader.
It all came about when he was in full 'build the wall' mode.
When asked for his thoughts about the border in Ireland, Trump said: "With your wall, your border. We have a border situation in the United States and you have one over here, but I hear it's going to work out very well,"
Cue panic from Leo, who was forced to instantly comment that Ireland had zero plans to introduce a wall of any kind between Ireland and the North.
'Unwelcome' sign
Since he lost the election in 2020, we've heard dozens of stories from those involved in the Trump White House and connected to the reality show star that he can be childish at times.
From Twitter rants, to locking himself in the White House while the Capitol riots were going on, Trump has been labelled as a 'baby' by critics in the past.
This has led to an enormous six-metre high balloon, depicting Trump as a baby in a nappy.
Having been flown in London at protests against the mogul, it made it's way to Ireland alongside the Donald, taking to the skies above "Stand Up to Trump" rally at the Garden of Remembrance in Parnell Square.
Trump had previously tweeted that he felt 'unwelcome' when the balloon was in London.
Family ties
It's expected that Trump will bring a massive entourage with him this year, in similar style to how he did in 2019..
While he decided to play golf for the majority of his visit, his sons Eric and Donald Jr took a stroll through Doonbeg.
In order to curry favour with locals, they stopped into a number of pubs to buy drinks for everyone involved.
Trump’s diehard supporters are hoping he will run for Presidency again in 2024 with Trump himself still claiming, incorrectly, that the last election was stolen from him.
