Donald Trump Made Inroads With Black and Latino Men in Battleground States, Exit Polls Show

Exit polls show former President Donald Trump gaining momentum with Black and Latino men in battleground states, Politico's chief polling analyst Steven Shepard detailed late Tuesday. Both demographics could give him a key advantage in Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, and Nevada, he explained.

According to Shepard, if Trump wins Georgia and North Carolina, he would likely have to thank Black men for it. Voter surveys from CNN and AP show Trump winning around 20% of Black men in both states. It is a sharp increase compared to 2020, when Trump won only 11% of Black voters in Georgia and 7% in North Carolina.

Trump is also being propelled by Latino voters in Arizona and Nevada, a historically Democratic demographic, with Latino men helping him close the gap. Exit polls published by NBC News have highlighted that Latino men are slightly more likely to support Trump, while women largely favor Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump's campaign radically changed its strategy this time around, with ads courting Latino culture and roundtables including members of the demographic in discussions about the economy and border security–priorities early polls indicated would affect who Latinos vote for in 2024.

Arizona and Nevada remain too close to call, and experts suggest exit polls aren't always reliable before the votes are tallied.
