Donald Trump is back on the Greenland grift again, once more toying with the idea of forcefully annexing the island despite there being practically no support for his bizarre crusade. According to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, the president has shared a map of what he calls “Greater North America,” and apparently he drew it all by himself! What a smart and creative president!.
Speaking on Sunday, Hegseth described Trump’s latest “strategic map” which goes “from Greenland to the Gulf of America to the Panama Canal and its surrounding countries.” Hegseth argues that the purpose of the strategic map is to restore “our North, South relations,” and that it’s important that we “get it right.” The map, of course, covers Canada as well, essentially anything North of the Equator.

Hegseth went on to claim that Geography was the main factor when it came to the map. He referred to natural barriers such as the Andes mountains and the Amazon rainforest, which served as borders for “Greater North America.”
While it’s not necessarily a map labelling American territory, it does seem like an attempt to lump Greenland and other areas that aren’t necessarily owned by the U.S. together. The people of Greenland have made it crystal clear many times now that they do not want anything to do with America or Donald Trump, but once again, the island is being labelled as a part of “Greater North America.”
Trump won’t leave Greenland alone
Donald has been trying to get his hands on Greenland for a long time now, but so far has been unable to seize it from Denmark. While he hasn’t ruled out taking the island by force, it hasn’t come to that yet and hopefully it never will.
The new map supposedly drawn by the president has brought the controversy back into discussions once more and serves as a reminder that Trump hasn’t forgotten about his goals, even if he is a little preoccupied with his illegal war in Iran right now.
Few on X bought into the excuse that the map was drawn for “security” reasons. “Why the f–k do these devils always talk about security, security, and security?” one person asked, adding, “Who is threatening the security of all these countries except the US Empire itself?” Security for the U.S. has been a common excuse for many controversial decisions from the Trump Administration.
Let’s not forget how the president claimed America needed to take Greenland to protect it from Russia and China, even though the U.S. already has military bases there. This new map seems like just another way of getting at Greenland and other resource-rich lands such as Canada.
