Donald Trump boasts about knowing McDonald’s menu better than restaurant staff

Donald Trump was seen boasting about his knowledge of the McDonald's menu while visiting the site of a fiery train wreck that spewed toxic waste into the surrounding area.

The former President is known for his love of fast food and walked into a McDonald’s to order a “nice array” of food for himself.

He also said his team would “get the meals for the fire department” and the others who were there.

Trump, who is making a third run for the White House, held a rally in East Palestine, Ohio, where the February 3 derailment led to evacuations and fears of air and water contamination.

“Hello, everybody. What’s your speciality today?” he asked after approaching an employee at the till.

He then said: “So I know this menu better than you do. I probably know it better than anybody in here.

“Knock it out fast for us... we’ll be eating it on the plane back.”

The Republican politician also handed out his trademark MAGA caps to people inside.

He told one member of staff they were worth three times more than the McDonald's ones they were wearing.

He also has used the visit to promote his own brand of bottled water.

Following the incident, locals were told to not drink the tap water and despite later being given 'all clear' by authorities, many still have hesitations.

Speaking at a lectern reading 'Trump. Make America Great Again 2024', the former-President said: “We’re bringing thousands of bottles of water - Trump Water, actually.

"Most of it. Some of it we had to go to a much lesser quality of water. You want to get those Trump bottles, more than anything else.”

He also took the opportunity to criticise the federal response to the toxic train derailment which he branded a “betrayal”.

He was speaking around half a mile from where the three dozen freight cars — including 11 carrying hazardous materials — came off the tracks.

Initial reports suggest the fiery, mangled mess followed a mechanical issue with a rail car axle. A formal report from the National Transportation Safety Board is expected to be released later today (February 23).

Trump's love for the fast-food restaurant is well known.

When serving as president, he was famously photographed with a huge spread of the fast food for the Clemson Tigers university football team during a government shutdown in 2019.

His favourite items from McDonald’s are a “Big Mac, Filet-o-Fish, fries and a vanilla shake,” according to son-in-law Jared Kushner.
