Donald Trump's key ally Steve Bannon has been sentenced to four months in prison over the Capitol riots.

The 66-year-old former senior strategist to President Trump has been sentenced by a judge after refusing to cooperate with lawmakers investigating last year's U.S. Capitol attack by a pro-Trump mob.

U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols also ordered Mr Bannon to pay a fine of $6,500 (£5,900).
