Renowned actor Donald Sutherland is set to release his memoir titled 'Made Up, But Still True' on November 12, coinciding with his 89th birthday. The memoir will delve into Sutherland's nearly 90 years of life and his illustrious 60-year career in Hollywood, where he has established himself as one of the industry's top actors.

Sutherland, known for his roles in iconic films such as 'M.A.S.H.,' 'Klute,' 'Ordinary People,' and 'The Hunger Games' saga, has left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry since his breakthrough role in 'M.A.S.H.' nearly six decades ago.

The memoir promises to offer readers a glimpse into Sutherland's life with raw honesty and a touch of wicked humor. It will detail his numerous brushes with death, his relationship with his parents, and provide behind-the-scenes anecdotes from the movies he has starred in.

Despite being a prominent figure in the New Hollywood era of the 1970s, Sutherland had long been overlooked for an Academy Award nomination. However, in 2017, he was honored with an honorary Oscar for his outstanding career achievements. Additionally, he boasts an Emmy award and two Golden Globes.

Born in Saint John, Canada, Sutherland battled through various childhood illnesses, including infantile paralysis, rheumatoid fever, and spinal meningitis. These early struggles, along with his passion for acting, are chronicled in his upcoming memoir.

Sutherland's acting career took off in the early 1960s, with notable roles in films like 'The Dirty Dozen' and Robert Altman's 'M.A.S.H.' He collaborated with esteemed directors such as Nicolas Roeg and Federico Fellini, showcasing his versatility in both art-house and mainstream cinema.

Notably, Sutherland's children have also followed in his footsteps, with some pursuing careers in acting. His son Kiefer Sutherland, known for roles in 'The Lost Boys' and '24,' has made a name for himself in the industry.

'Made Up, But Still True' marks Sutherland's debut as an author, offering fans and readers a unique insight into the life and career of a Hollywood legend.
