'Don't touch' warning to seaside visitors after huge jellyfish found on beach

Visitors have been warned to look but not touch giant jellyfish which have been seen on a beach. The enormous creatures are thought to be Lion's Mane which, while not poisonous, can sting.

A number of them have been seen on the beach at Seaton Carew, Hartlepool - which shot to fame as the scene of the fraud of 'canoe man' John Darwin. He was reported missing after leaving the beach in his canoe only to reappear years later after life-insurance money had been paid out.

The jellyfish have been spotted by several people and have sparked warnings for beach-users to take care if they see them. According to Teesside Live they can not only sting but could sometimes cause an allergic reaction.
