I thought that I had ceased to be surprised by the words and behaviour of those who have manoeuvred themselves into positions of holding power that they are not competent to wield. Dominic Raab, however, has exceeded all expectations with his resignation letter, seeking to position himself as the victim of a misguided definition of bullying (‘A dangerous precedent’: Raab’s letter of resignation and Sunak’s reply in full, 21 April).
If he believes that, as he says, the inquiry is “setting the threshold for bullying so low”, perhaps he could give us his definition of inappropriate behaviour towards staff. On second thoughts, we can do without any more comments from this strutting would-be-alpha male, and he need trouble us no further.
