Women risk being put off getting into politics by shock revelations of foul-mouthed language used by Boris Johnson’s former top aide Dominic Cummings including that he was willing to “handcuff” one senior female civil servant who he branded a “c***”, a Cabinet minister said on Thursday.

Science Secretary Michelle Donelan said she had not personally experienced misogyny in government when asked about Mr Cummings’ remarks which were made public at the Covid Inquiry.
