Dominic Calvert-Lewin starts as Everton make two changes for Newcastle

Dominic Calvert-Lewin starts his first game of the season for Everton as Frank Lampard makes two changes for the trip to Newcastle United.

The striker was set to lead Everton 's attack at the beginning of the season before picking up what Lampard described as a freak knee injury on the eve of the campaign. Since then he has been fighting for fitness and made substitute appearances against both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Now the 25-year-old is set to start for the Blues as he replaces Neal Maupay in the starting line-up. Anthony Gordon also returns to the starting XI after being suspended for the trip to Tottenham Hotspur.

The 21-year-old missed out after picking up five yellow cards in his first nine Premier League games. He replaces Dwight McNeil at St James' Park. Lampard otherwise sticks with rest of the first XI from the defeat at Spurs and looks set to stick with 4-3-3 as he looks to halt a run of back-to-back defeats.
