With just two weeks left in the 2022 regular season, and Tua Tagovailoa’s availability in the air, the Miami Dolphins are looking at some free agents to provide depth at quarterback and wide receiver.
On Thursday, Miami worked out quarterbacks Jack Coan and Kyle Lauletta, as well as wide receivers Tarik Black and Isaiah Coulter.
Coan, 24, went undrafted during this past year’s draft process after spending his collegiate years at Wisconsin and Notre Dame. In college, he completed 66.8% of his passes for 6,428 yards, 48 touchdowns and 15 interceptions with a 148.0 passer rating. He was signed by the Indianapolis Colts and is currently a member of the XFL’s San Antonio Brahmas.
Lauletta, 27, was a fourth-round pick of the New York Giants back in 2018 after a collegiate career at Richmond. He’s been on six NFL rosters since then (throwing four incompletions and one interception), and two XFL rosters. He’s currently set to be on the New Jersey Generals when their season begins.
Black, 24. was undrafted in 2021 out of Texas. In college, he recorded 747 yards and three touchdowns on 50 receptions. After the draft, Black signed with the Colts. He made his NFL debut in 2021 with the New York Jets, bringing in one catch for 10 yards.
Coulter, 24, spent his college years with Rhode Island before being a fifth-round selection of the Houston Texans in 2020. During his collegiate career, he recorded 132 receptions for 1,855 yards and 12 touchdowns in 34 games. Since being drafted, Coulter’s also spent time with the Chicago Bears and Buffalo Bills, but he’s yet to catch a pass.
