The Miami Dolphins are set to play host to the New England Patriots in the regular season opener on Sunday afternoon at Hard Rock Stadium.
Miami’s entering this game with a new head coach in Mike McDaniel and a winning record against the Patriots (4-2) in the last three years. McDaniel’s new offensive scheme, the arrival of new offensive weapons and an improved offensive line should help take the Dolphins’ offense to a higher level. And, with nothing really changing for their defense, the only question there will be how they deal with the loss of Brian Flores as a defensive mind.
For New England, they’re headed into 2022 implementing aspects of a new offense after the departure of longtime offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who left to coach the Las Vegas Raiders. This transition plus the loss shifting of the offensive line has left their offense looking anemic at times during training camp and preseason. Add in the fact that their best defensive player in cornerback J.C. Jackson and Bill Belichick’s team has a lot of questions to face.
