The Miami Dolphins are set to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in both teams’ preseason opener on Saturday evening at Raymond James Stadium.
Miami’s coming into this game after an offseason full of changes that included a coaching swap, an influx of new talent and penalties levied against the organization. There are high hopes in the fanbase, with many believing they finally have enough around quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to make it to the postseason.
For Tampa Bay, while they also have a new man leading things in Todd Bowles, he was at least on the staff before Bruce Arians retired, so there’s some familiarity there. Quarterback Tom Brady also retired and unretired this offseason, so they’re expected to be close to where they were last season.
With the Buccaneers announcing that Brady won’t play, and Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel unsure if Tagovailoa will take the field, the outcome of this one is a toss-up. However, the result isn’t as important as the process in the game. That’s what everyone will be watching for.
