Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa Donates $10K to Family of Deceased Fan

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa donated $10,000 to the family of the late fan who created the popular “We Are TuAnon” Twitter account, which was devoted to supporting Tagovailoa and the Dolphins for the past two seasons.

Eric Carmona, who frequently posted videos of himself wearing a dolphin mask and using a voice distorter, died in a motorcycle accident on June 1, the Murrieta Police Department announced. He was 30 years old.

“Earlier this week, the Dolphins lost one of our biggest fans,” Tagovailoa wrote on Twitter on Wednesday. “Eric Carmona tragically lost his life in a car accident on his way to work. He leaves behind his wife and four kids. If you can help at all, either through their GoFundMe or with a prayer, it would mean a lot.”

Miami wideout Tyreek Hill also donated $7,000, while Dolphins CEO and president Tom Garfinkel donated $1,000, per USA TODAY‘s Safid Deen.

The TuAnon account has created a GoFundMe account on behalf of Carmona’s wife and four children, and shared a heartfelt message after his passing.

“For all intensive purposes, Eric was TuAnon,” the account tweeted on June 2. “The videos were him, the modulator was him. The interviews with media were him. We’ll miss you Chico. Eric was a navy veteran, massive Tua fan, massive Dolphins fan, great husband, and great father.”
