Dolphins Stop Short of Setting All-Time Scoring Record in Win Over Broncos

The Dolphins ended Sunday’s game vs. the Broncos just two points short of tying the NFL record for the most points scored in a game.

Miami scored 70 points in Sunday’s win over the Broncos, the most in the NFL's Super Bowl era. The league record is 73 points, scored by Chicago in 1940. (Super Bowl I was played in 1967, one year after Washington scored 72 versus the Giants.) 

The Dolphins had a shot to break the modern-day record, running three plays inside Denver’s 25-yard line while up 70-20 before kneeling out the clock on fourth down. The Miami crowd booed at this point, even though their team was electric all game.
