New Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel began his journey to Miami Gardens on Monday when he, his wife, and their daughter hopped aboard a jet to meet with the team.
While onboard, McDaniel got a chance to speak with his quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, on the phone. The Dolphins’ social media team was there to capture the interaction, however, they only got one side of the conversation with McDaniel wearing headphones.
In the talk, McDaniel said that his job is to coach Tagovailoa to get the greatness out of him and that he wants the quarterback to look back on this day and consider it one of the best days of his life.

One of the best parts of the video is when he joked to the camera operator that Tagovailoa says that there’s no other coach he’d rather play for in the world. McDaniel’s personality shined in this video, and it will be great to get to know him more as the days and seasons pass.
