The Miami Dolphins have put forth a concerted effort to bring back a number of the guys from their 2021 defense, including Emmanuel Ogbah, Elandon Roberts, Duke Riley, Sam Eguavoen and Brennan Scarlett.
Now, the Dolphins are returning another name to their defensive unit for 2022, as the team announced that they’ve re-signed defensive tackle John Jenkins. The terms of the contract are unknown to this point.
Jenkins, 32, has spent two seasons with the Dolphins in two separate stints (2019 and 2021). Last year, he appeared in 12 games, starting two of them, and recording 16 total tackles. A majority of Jenkins’ playing time came when Raekwon Davis went down with an injury early in the season, allowing the veteran to get some reps.
It’s likely that Jenkins will be a depth piece for the Dolphins again in 2022 if he makes the final roster.
