Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert not expected to play vs. Titans in Week 4

Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert is expected to sit out Monday night against the Tennessee Titans due to the same chest injury that kept him out in Weeks 2 and 3, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Mostert, 32, practiced on a limited basis in the days leading up to the primetime contest and is listed as questionable to play. However, Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel told reporters Saturday that the team wouldn’t rush the veteran running back to return too early from his injury.

“We’re not going to prematurely put ourselves out there if we’re going to take steps back and can’t properly protect ourselves,” McDaniel said. “So I know he wants to [play] in the worst way, but he’s an important piece to our team and our offense, so we will take that in full consideration before game time.”

The nature of Mostert’s injury isn’t clear, but it was suffered by the running back during the team’s Week 1 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. In his absence, the Dolphins have leaned on De’Von Achane, who had a career-high 29 touches in Week 2.

Expect another healthy helping of Achane on Monday night with some some touches for rookie Jaylen Wright and veteran Jeff Wilson Jr.
