Dolphins QB coach Darrell Bevell to interview for Jets’ OC job

With the Miami Dolphins officially eliminated from the postseason, coaching changes could be coming in the offseason.

On Monday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the New York Jets will interview Miami’s pass-game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Darrell Bevell for their open offensive coordinator role.

The Jets recently fired Mike LaFleur after a season where second-year quarterback Zach Wilson was essentially benched for his poor performances.

Bevell had been rumored earlier this year to potentially receive interest as a head coaching candidate, but this seems like the most logical step. Since entering the NFL coaching ranks back in 2000, he’s been an offensive coordinator four times.

The work that he’s done with Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Matthew Stafford and Tua Tagovailoa is probably a strong selling point for teams looking for an experienced offensive coordinator.
