The Miami Dolphins are in the middle of their search to find their next head coach after Brian Flores was fired on Black Monday.
On Thursday, it was reported that the Dolphins would start their second round of interviews next week, and according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the team has officially requested a second meeting with Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.
Daboll is currently a finalist for the New York Giants job as well, along with Miami’s former head coach, so there’s a chance that he gets hired before then, but Miami seems to be interested in interviewing him (and likely others) one more time.
It’s tough to say that what the Bills were able to do this year is replicable for the Dolphins because of the clear talent gap between Tua Tagovailoa and Josh Allen at this point. However, after a divisional round game that saw Buffalo’s offense put up 422 total yards and five touchdowns, the Dolphins should be strongly considering Daboll for the job.
