Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane was one of the only positive takeaways for the Miami Dolphins following their tough loss to the division-rival Buffalo Bills.

Achane carried the ball eight times for 101 yards and two touchdowns, making it six touchdowns in the last two games, four rushing and two receiving.

After the game, head coach Mike McDaniel was asked about Achane’s performance of Achane, and while McDaniel was more focused on the poor overall performance of his team, he did acknowledge that Achane made some impressive plays.

“The game’s not too big for him and he’ll continue to have a role for sure,” he said.

McDaniel admitted he needs to look at the tape before making a decision on the distribution of touches.

Achane’s running back counterpart Raheem Mostert had a terrible game against the Bills, fumbling the football twice with one resulting in a turnover. He was only able to pick up nine yards on his seven carries.

Mostert has been one of the Dolphins’ best players thus far in 2023, so he likely won’t lose many carries after one bad game. Mostert has certainly earned his touches both in the run and pass.

Achane took the league by storm in the Dolphins’ 70-20 rout of the Denver Broncos in Week 3 with a 203-yard performance. He’s averaging an outstanding 11.4 yards per carry so far this season.

The former Aggie is a rising star proving to be a big-play threat anytime he lines up in the backfield. He should lead the Dolphins in carries week in and week out, even with Mostert in the lineup.
