A pod of dolphins have been spotted leaping out of the River Clyde as passers-by were treated to a rare show.
The animals were seen splashing around in the water in Greenock on Wednesday afternoon.
Jonathan McRae, who works for a local quarry, was making a collection from Greenock Docks when he spotted the sea mammals frolicking in the water.
At least four dolphins can be seen enjoying playing in the clip. The animals take turns leaping out of the water and splashing around before swimming off down the river.
It's understood the dolphins were visible for around 15 minutes before a large boat leaving the dock scared them off.
Jonathan, 39, from Dumbarton, told the Record: "It was great to watch them having a ball in the water for the 15 minutes. It was just a shame the big boat came along."
It's not the first time dolphins have been spotted in the Clyde, despite it being a rare phenomenon.
In July last year the animals were spotted swimming around The Waverley, as it sailed past Greenock.
The video showed the dolphins playfully splashing around the ship to the delight of those on board.
