After one full season as head coach of the Miami Dolphins, Mike McDaniel has won over a lot of people with his personality.
From those who are watching and following along with the games to those who are playing for him, the former San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator has a way of infecting people with his demeanor.
While, on the field, the Dolphins may not have made it as far as they would’ve liked, the playoff berth that they achieved was more than had been accomplished in the previous five seasons. However, a jump to a championship contender is a lot to ask of anybody in their first year in the role.
In 2023, with the help of an experienced, respected defensive coordinator in Vic Fangio, the Dolphins are expected to improve and finish better than the 9-8 they’ve finished the last two years.
Fullback Alec Ingold is a big McDaniel supporter, and, during a recent interview on the Colin Thompson Show, the former Wisconsin badger explained what it is about the coach that seems to make everyone like him.

McDaniel’s coaching style is certainly different than previous head coach Brian Flores, who was noted to be much more stern at times. So far, the Dolphins have finished with the same record under both head coaches in the last two seasons, so McDaniel still has worked to do to prove he was an upgrade.
Miami has a chance to do that this year with all of the talent they have on their roster and coaching staff.
