Dolph Lundgren and his wife, Emma Krokdal, have officially become United States citizens after participating in a naturalization ceremony in Los Angeles on Monday. The Swedish-born actor, known for his role in Rocky IV, and his Norwegian wife raised their right hands to swear an oath of allegiance to the U.S. during the ceremony.
Lundgren, 66, and Krokdal, 27, tied the knot in July of this year in a private ceremony held at their villa in Mykonos, Greece. The couple had initially announced their engagement in 2020 but faced several delays due to COVID-19 and Lundgren's ongoing medical treatments.
Having spent significant time in the United States for over 40 years, Lundgren expressed his love for the country and the countless opportunities it has provided him. He stated, 'I’m proud to finally become a U.S. citizen and officially make this my home. It’s about time.' Lundgren also shared his gratitude for the support and understanding shown by his wife throughout his battle with kidney cancer, which he first disclosed in 2015.
The couple first met in 2019 at a Los Angeles gym where Krokdal worked as a personal trainer. They made their first public appearance as a couple at the premiere of Minions: The Rise of Gru in June 2022. Despite the challenges they have faced, their love has remained strong, and Lundgren referred to Krokdal as an angel sent to support him through difficult times.
The naturalization ceremony marked a significant milestone for Dolph Lundgren and Emma Krokdal, solidifying their commitment to becoming American citizens. With their new status, they can continue to build their lives together and enjoy the opportunities that the United States offers.
