Dolly Parton's sister Stella has questioned why Nashville entertainers she knows have not contacted her since the country music icon died in Nashville, Tennessee, on 25 August 2026. Speaking to Gayle King on 10 September, Stella speculated that her political activism on social media might have influenced the lack of contact.
Stella did not name any singer or entertainer she expected to reach out. She also did not say that every Nashville artist had ignored the Parton family.
