Dolly Parton releases track list for first-ever rock album

Country music legend Dolly Parton will be joined by some big-name collaborators for her first-ever rock album.

Sir Elton John, Sting, Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Ringo Starr will all feature on Rockstar - a 30-track opus which is due for release on November 17.

Parton, 77, said: “I’m so excited to finally present my first Rock and Roll album, Rockstar.

“I am very honored and privileged to have worked with some of the greatest iconic singers and musicians of all time and to be able to sing all the iconic songs throughout the album was a joy beyond measure.

“I hope everybody enjoys the album as much as I’ve enjoyed putting it together.”

The album was inspired by Parton’s 2022 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and will comprise covers of classics.

Having accepted the award, Parton said she felt the need to “earn the right” by releasing a recording of rock songs.

She revealed the album on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on November 30 and the tracklisting was made public this week.
