RTE star Doireann Garrihy has been confirmed as the new host of Dancing with the Stars.
The 2FM radio host will join Jennifer Zamparelli to present series six of the show when it returns to screens on RTE One in January. Westlife star Nicky Byrne announced his departure from the show earlier this year due to commitments with the band, and fans have been speculating about his replacement ever since.
Garrihy, 30, described landing the gig as a "dream come true". She said: "I am ecstatic to be joining the Dancing with the Stars family - the glitziest gang in town! This is a dream come true for me. I cannot wait to get going with the team. I never thought I’d say this but roll on the month of January!"

Doireann has been presented plenty of shows on RTE in recent years, including the brief revival of The Podge and Rodge Show, Big Night In, Reeling in the Fears and her comedy show ‘The Doireann Project’, which aired on RTÉ Player and RTÉ2.
Returning to present her fifth series of Dancing with the Stars, co-host Jennifer Zamparell said: "I’m really excited to welcome my 2FM pal, Doireann as my new co-host on the show. I predict a lot of fun and a lot of laughs! It's shaping up to be a new great series."
The show will return in January with eleven celebrities paired with a professional dancer. Each pairing will have a different dancing genre to master every week, they’ll have just seven days to master their routine before performing live on air.
