A doggy couple in Dublin are looking for a new home for Valentine's Day.
Dogs Trust Ireland is searching for a forever home for residents Yara and Evie, who have been in their care for over a year. Yara, a two-year-old Beagle mix was found seriously injured in a field and had to undergo emergency surgery to save her life, while Evie, a four-year-old Spaniel mix was found with the skin condition mange and multiple infections.
After meeting in the kennels, Yara and Evie struck up a strong bond and have helped one another on the road to recovery. The Finglas-based charity has found a foster home for the pair, and now they are looking for a permanent home to house them both.

Sandra Ruddell, Assistant Operations Manager at Dogs Trust, explained that both Evie and Yara were found in "awful" condition by the charity. She said: "Thanks to our supporters, we were able to get them the emergency veterinary care they needed.
"We are so grateful to their fosterers, as both girls have blossomed and fully healed. They are now friendly, well-behaved and energetic dogs and we can’t wait to find them their forever home together," he added. Both Evie and Yara would ideally suit a family with children over the age of 16, and need a kind owner with a big heart willing to take them both on.
Dogs Trust also has other dogs in its care that need a home or a sponsor this Valentine's Day. Ciara Murran, Head of Communications at Dogs Trust Ireland said: “This Valentine’s Day, we are appealing to people to consider sponsoring a dog for the special dog lover in their lives.
"This will help us to continue to be there for dogs like Evie and Yara when they need us most. We have lots of very special dogs, who have been with us a while now, searching for special homes, especially those in quieter areas with few visitors," he added.
Dogs Trust considers is also appealing for extra special adopters to get in touch with them by visiting www.DogsTrust.ie/UnderDogs for more information.
