DogFest returns to Tatton Park this weekend as hundreds of pets set to descend on Cheshire beauty spot

DogFest, the canine-based festival, is set to return to Tatton Park this weekend. It happens on June 18 and 19 in the grounds of the hall, boasting all manner of dog-friendly activities.

Among them will be the annual Big Dog Walk, taking in either a 2km or a 4km route around the Tatton estate, which will help to raise money for the Dog’s Trust. The festival will also feature more than 150 stalls for dog-owners to shop at.

There will be everything from dog fragrances to buy at the ‘Pawfume Shop’, edible birthday cards for dogs, and fashionable accessories from the likes of Noodle and Mars.

Broadcaster Michaela Strachan will be in attendance for presenting duties, alongside a host of other experts and specialists. She said: “I absolutely love DogFest every year. Being with 100s of gorgeous pooches is simply the best day out. Can't wait for DogFest 2022 – see you all there for entertainment, expert advice, the Big Dog Walk, and plenty of furry cuddles!”

Renowned professionals from the industry will be on hand for advice, including animal behaviourist Adem Fehmi who will be presenting workshops, and canine trainer and TikTok sensation Lucy Heath who will also be appearing. And for those hoping to up their game further, Crufts freestyle winner Nicci Hindson will be doing a dog dancing and obedience display, as well as giving visitors training tips.

Meanwhile, the Dog’s Trust will be hosting a ‘village green’ area, where visitors who are interested in re-homing can meet dogs that are in need of new homes. And there will be dog displays and activities going on, such as flyball and dog diving, as well as a full dog agility course.

There is even a VIP area, for those interested in a more rarified experience, which comes with a VIP gift bag, fast-track entry and complimentary refreshments, including ice cream for you and your dog.
