Dog who suffered horrific burns and was dumped in park finds forever home

A dog who "suffered horrendously" with painful untreated burns has managed to steal the hearts of the couple who were fostering him. French Bulldog Bruce was found shivering with horrific burns on his back in a bush near a park in Preston in Lancashire in February.

The eight-year-old pet had to be rushed into emergency surgery to treat the burns, which the RSPCA think happened two or three weeks before he was found abandoned in the park, the Express reported. Animal cruelty inspectors said the poor pup would have been in agonising pain the whole time his burns had been left without treatment.

After his surgery, Bruce was taken in by fosterers Jack and Angharad Brennan, from Leyland in Lancashire, who were only supposed to look after him temporarily to get him ready for his forever home. But the pair, both 27, fell in love with Bruce's sweet nature and decided to adopt him.
