Dog 'stolen' as Paisley mum collapses with heart attack on the street

A woman claims her dog was stolen when she suffered a heart attack in the street.

Kat Conway has been left heartbroken at the loss of six-year-old Jessie, who she says was taken by a man while paramedics rushed her to hospital.

Now the 50-year-old says she will not rest until she is reunited with her pet following the frightening experience during a trip to London, the Paisley Daily Express reports.

The Paisley mum was visiting her daughter Erin in the capital when the drama unfolded.

She was walking with the Shih-Poo on Euston Road at 2pm on Monday, June 6 when she collapsed.

An ambulance crew raced to the scene, but would not let her pet into the ambulance.

Kat says a man with blonde curly hair offered to help and took her pet away and he has not been seen or heard from since.

She has since been discharged from hospital and recuperating at home, but plans to travel back to London as soon as her health allows to find Jessie.

She explained: "I won't give up on finding her.

"I've been on the phone to the police constantly and have been in contact regularly with dog wardens, and people who have set up a Facebook page to help find Jessie.

"As soon as I'm feeling well enough again, I'll be travelling down south to see what else I can do."

A Facebook group called 'Find Wee Jessie and Bring Her Home - NW1' (London postcode) was set up on Tuesday and more than 1,000 people joined within the first 24 hours.

They have made digital posters, which are being shared widely online, and are urging any witnesses to the incident or people with information on Jessie's whereabouts to get in touch.

While it may seem like a long shot for Jessie to be found in London, the dog is microchipped with Petlog and is marked as missing on its website.

Kat added: "I'm devastated all this happened. I was on my way home and was just a few steps away from the train station.

"I'm now phoning every dog warden, every council, every vets in the hope of finding my dog."
