Dog rescued from Venezuela earthquake ruins after being buried under rubble for days

A dog trapped underneath a Venezuela building for four days after the deadly twin earthquakes has been miraculously pulled alive from the rubble.

Footage shows rescuers cleaning debris away to reach the trapped pet at Residencias Karina. “We do not know its name, but it is in very good health,” they said.

Efforts are now underway to reunite the lost canine with its owner.

Almost 800 buildings collapsed after the 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude quakes struck within 39 seconds of each other on Wednesday (24 June).

As of Monday (29 June), at least 1,719 people have been killed in what Interim President Delcy Rodríguez has described as the "most brutal natural catastrophe" in the country’s history.
