A dog owner in
Chinahas dyed his golden retriever scarlet and showed him off on social media.
But some people online are worried the dog has been harmed.
The owner lives in Guangzhou, in the Guangdong Province in southern China, and according to the video, his park is now a bright pink colour, The Daily Mail reports.
You can still see hints of his formerly golden fur, around his eyes and nose, but the puppy looks distinctly unimpressed as most of his fur has been turned bright pinkish red.
In the video, the puppy is dragged along the floor to show his complete transformation.
Some online users have expressed concern over whether human hair dye was used on the poor pooch, which could potentially cause him harm.
However, the heavily-tattooed owner claimed he had spoken to a vet, who had told him the dye would do his pet Golden Retriever no harm at all.
One commentator wrote: "All right now, all the dogs in a radius of 10 miles are coming to laugh at him."
Another social media user asked: "How long does it take for this to fade?"
And one more observed: "This is the most fashionable dog on the Internet."
China lacks animal protection legislation, with only one nationwide law providing protective measures for certain wild animals.
Similarly, in July, a pet owner hit back at cruel trolls who've accused her of animal abuse over the fact she'd chosen to dye her pet dog's fur red.
TikToker Chloe regularly took to the app to share clips of her Great Pyrenees Dandy using her handle @danthebigreddog, not to be confused with Clifford.
However, despite Dandy looking like an incredibly happy pooch in all the videos, Chloe was forced to defend herself after trolls likened the red animal dye to animal abuse.
She hit back at the mean comments by explaining exactly why she had chosen to dye her beloved pet's fur such a vibrant colour.
He looks so adorable in red," she listed as the first reason, before adding the second reason: "To keep him from getting stolen. He's a rare breed in my area."
She went on to say that Dandy really enjoys the process of having his fur done" and the vegan products used "make his fur shiny and soft."
Chloe added: "Dan loves people and kids but he’s 130lbs so people would get scared of him. Now people don’t get scared of him! They only smile and ask to give him attention. He loves that."
