BelfastLive today welcomes trainee newshound, Durrell, to the DogsLive team for the Summer.
After recently being made redundant from an office assistant role, eight-month-old Cocker Spaniel mix, Durrell, has turned his paws to being a rover reporter by joining our dog dedicated sister site DogsLive.
And if you love dogs like we do, he will be at your side with the latest fun, news and advice about dogs and the best places to visit across July and August.

Durrell explained: “I’m originally from a lovely house in Banbridge in Co Down, but I’ve lived with my family in East Belfast since I was three months old.
“I previously worked in an office environment which I loved, but I’m hoping to express my creative side a bit more and ideally work from the sofa - which apparently I’m not supposed to be on. I’m still struggling with the sofa rule logic - anyone else?
“Anyway, when I’m not working I enjoy walks with my family, trying out the puppachinos at dog friendly cafes, zoomies, trips to Yorkshire to visit my canine cousins and my favourite, WATERMELON.
“I’m not a big fan of the vacuum cleaner, people in hats and not being the centre of attention.
“My parents struggled to find the perfect name for me, but after seeing a quote by Gerald Durrell “a house is not a home until it has a dog”, everything came together. I think it quite suits me, don’t you?
“And now, given I was named after a famous literary family, I’m excited to put paws to paper for my next career move. I hope you’ll join me for dog fun, puns and lots of sniffing out the good stuff.”
If you have a dog friendly venue or event would would like to invite Durrell to review you can email his PA at eva.henderson@outlook.com
