Police say they've identified the owner of a dog which bit a member of the public in a village park. Officers have also worked to trace the dog in question and said 'action has been taken' to prevent further issues from happening.
In a Facebook post on Monday (February 13), the Rushcliffe South Police team for Radcliffe-on-Trent, Bingham, Cotgrave, East Leake and Bingham said the investigation into the bite was ongoing.
"We are aware of concerns being raised by the community in East Leake regarding a dog bite on a member of the public in a local park," police officers said. "We would like to reassure residents that the dog and its owner have been identified and action has been taken to mitigate any future occurrences.

"The investigation into this incident is still ongoing." Police did not release details on the breed of the dog nor where or when the incident happened.
