An adorable dog has been abandoned on a street corner with a heartbreaking note attached to his collar.
The dog, named Oreo, spent a worrying amount of time tied up in the sun in Virginia, America, before being rescued by Richmond Animal Care and Control.
The elderly schnauzer-poodle mix was extremely dehydrated - and could have ended up with heatstroke if he was left any longer.
It wasn't until the team untied him when they notice a note pinned to his collar.
It read: "My name is Oreo. I'm over 10-years-old. I have anxiety. My owner died. I'm really good. I need a home."

After undergoing a check up at Richmond Animal Care and Control, it was discovered the poor pooch could barely see or hear.
A rescue worker shared Oreo's story on Facebook in hope somebody would look past his age and welcome him into their home and heart.
Their post read: " Get your tissues out and then help us find Oreo a forever home.
"Officer Boone responded to a call for a dog tied to a pole and found this old man with this note.
"Oreo can’t see or hear very well and needs a quiet home (no young children) and he seems to be fine with other calm dogs."
Just three days after being taken in by the animal charity, Oreo secured a new home in Fredericksburg where he can live out his final years.
He now spends his days playing alongside his owner's existing dog in their five acre garden.
It comes after a dog was dumped on the streets with a bag full of toys and a note from her owner.
The dog, known as Baby Girl, was tied to a fire hydrant in Green Bay, Wisconsin, America, and rescued by the Humane Society.
Although the animal rescue did not shared the owner's note, they explained how she wasn't able to meet her pet's needs due to the dog's and her own health concerns.
They thanked her for reaching out for help and trying to do best by her dog.
Speaking directly to the owner, a spokeswoman said: "We see your love in the bag you carefully packed with all of her favourite things.
"We see your love in the way you secured her leash so she wouldn’t get hit by a car.
"We see your love in the way you placed her in the middle of a neighbourhood where she’d be quickly found.
"We see your love in how happy and healthy Baby Girl looks.
Just days after being taken in by the animal charity, Baby Girl secured a new home - and her previous owner couldn't be happier about it.
