Does Street Fighter 6 have Crossplay between Xbox, PlayStation, and PC?

Street Fighter 6 has an elaborate online suite which lets you interact and have a scrap with fighters from all over the globe, and on other platforms

Street Fighter 6 is finally here and the verdict is in, it's a banger according to our Mirror Gaming Street Fighter 6 review. The game features an elaborate online mode which features Casual and Ranked Matches, as well as the brand new Battle Hub, which is an online lobby that allows you to do battle with all manner of folks. As well as play some classic Capcom arcade games and just generally hang out with whatever weird creations players have made in the avatar creation suite.

The game is on PS4, PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S so the question on everyone's mind is whether the game has Crossplay or not. You would expect any game with a multiplayer focus released nowadays to offer Crossplay, but considering titles like Guilty Gear Strive were missing the feature at launch, it's always good to know if it does.

Does Street Fighter 6 have Crossplay?

It does! Yes. You'll be able to play Street Fighter 6 with your pals no matter the platform, be it Xbox, PC, PlayStation or any platforms Capcom decides to port the game to in the future. Due to Street Fighter 6 requiring a Capcom ID to play matchmaking is done through the Capcom Fighters Network rather than the specific consoles.

How to play Crossplay in Street Fighter 6

Playing Crossplay in Street Fighter 6 is a bit different based on which mode you play. You'll know you're playing Crossplay if you look at the logo next to the other players name. If it's someone on the same platform as you you'll see the PlayStation / Xbox / PC logo. But, if it is a Crossplay match you'll see a circular icon with some arrows in it.

For Ranked and Casual Match modes you'll have the option to enable or disable Crossplay when queuing for a match in either mode. Meanwhile, for Battle Hub, when you select a server you'll see 'Crossplay Lobby' at the top of the list with a Right Stick / R3 button prompt, which you can set to 'Platform-Specific Lobby' if you only want to play against fighters on your platform.

And that's everything you need to know to get started with Crossplay in Street Fighter 6. There doesn't seem to be any downside to playing against players on other platforms, and the Crossplay Lobbies seem more populated so it won't hurt to play with Crossplay enabled.

So if you were holding out on buying the game until finding out about Crossplay, we've got a handy Street Fighter 6 buying guide available, as well as all the info you need about the Street Fighter 6 Year 1 Ultimate Pass.
