Dodgers’ Miguel Rojas Deftly Fielded His Position During In-Game Interview, and MLB World Was in Awe

Dodgers shortstop Miguel Rojas seemed a bit nervous on Sunday evening. Although he has appeared in over 1,000 MLB games, participating in an in-game interview with ESPN was a first for him. He ended up giving the baseball world a viral moment that’ll warm your heart.

While playing the field against the Giants, the veteran infielder was in the middle of telling a story when a ground ball from Thairo Estrada came straight toward him. Without missing a beat, Rojas stopped in the middle of his sentence, made the grab and said, “Sorry guys need to make this play real quick,” before he made the throw to first base to record the out.

Naturally, ESPN’s broadcasters broke out in laughter before the ball even made it to the bag. You’d think after that sequence Rojas would warm up a bit, but apparently that wasn’t the case.

“[I’m] not that comfortable,” Rojas said with a smile. “It’s my first time doing this.”

You wouldn’t know it from his natural charisma, and observers just loved it.
