'Doctors told me they weren't concerned - then a horrifying diagnosis led to treatment that chargrilled my insides'

A mum-of-two has told of how doctors misdiagnosed her and were not concerned about her shocking symptoms, before a horrifying diagnosis led to treatment that "chargrilled her insides".

Joanne Painter started experiencing vaginal bleeding that was so severe it felt like “somebody had just popped a balloon”. The 38-year-old was gravely concerned about the symptoms although her doctors were not, she says.

After investigations, Joanne was found to have stage two cervical cancer. She underwent gruelling treatment to remove a large vascular tumour in her cervix.
