New shots of Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson as The Doctor and his sidekick Ruby Sunday have been released – and it looks as though the timelord has gone back in time.
In the latest first look images, the pair are seen sporting outfits inspired by the Swinging Sixties as filming for the new series continues.
Gatwa, who plays the latest incarnation of The Doctor, looked suave in a blue pinstripe suit, white shirt and light green tie while Gibson, who unveiled as the Doctor’s companion in November, slipped into a black mini dress posing alongside him.
The broadcaster is keeping quiet on any additional details about the shoot, only revealing that filming is now underway on the Doctor Who special that the actors star in.
After sharing the photo on Twitter, fans couldn’t contain their excitement about the new stars and their new threads.
One enthused fan commented: “Simply unable to cope with this”.

“This new series is looking fantastic,” another penned. “IM SO EXCITED!!!! THEY LOOK FANTASTIC!!!!”
A fourth added: “Is this my favourite look a Doctor/companion duo have had? Quite possibly!”
The photos come after Jodie Whittaker faced her final battles as the time lord in October in a special episode of Doctor Who to mark the BBC’s centenary.
The actress became the first woman to portray the Doctor when she took over the role from Peter Capaldi in 2017.
During the feature-length programme, viewers were left surprised as Whittaker’s 13th Time Lord regenerated into David Tennant, who previously played the 10th incarnation of the Doctor.
Following the special, it was confirmed Tennant, 51, will become the 14th incarnation with Catherine Tate reprising her role as his former companion Donna Noble for three special episodes set to air in November 2023.
Gatwa, 30, will then take control of the Tardis as the 15th Doctor, with his first episode due to air over the festive period in 2023.
