KOLKATA: After a pandemic-induced two-year lull, medical conferences and doctors' conclaves are back in the physical mode in Kolkata. The city has already hosted a few and around a dozen more are lined up over the next one month.
Online conferences had substituted these meets, which often see new clinical practices and technologies being introduced along with training programmes for practicing medics that help the latter stay in touch with the latest developments. But virtual meets had been hindering hands-on training, skill development and exchange of ideas that can’t happen online, said doctors.
