Christmas is round the corner and that means the markets are back.
After concerns that the Edinburgh Christmas Markets would not go ahead, it has been confirmed that they will be returning on November 25 2022. With new organisers, visitors can expect the classic attractions in the city centre, including Santa Land, Forth 1 Big Wheel, and Lidl's Ice Rink on George Street.
The traditional markets themselves will be situated in East Princes Street Gardens and will host around 70 stalls selling everything from bespoke products and gifts to tasty treats. Meanwhile, Santa Land can be found in West Princes Street Gardens.

To enter the market, you do not need a ticket. Just turn up and wonder round the stalls. Of course, if you are buying anything whether it's a gift or food and drink, don't expect it to be cheap. Last year one of Edinburgh Live's reporters struggled to buy anything to eat under £6.
The organisers add: "Access into the Christmas Markets is free and unticketed, but please be aware the market areas can be very busy at peak times and queueing mechanisms will be in place during these periods for safety."

Tickets for the Forth 1 Big Wheel are on sale from £10 and can be bought on via the Edinburgh Christmas website. It is also worth noting that if you prove you have an EH postcode, you can get 20 per cent off.
