You’ll never know what you’ll hear on an NFL field in advance. But sometimes, it’s worth really listening — even when it’s from an opposing player.
After the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Washington Commanders on Sunday, Seattle star receiver DK Metcalf chatted with tight end Logan Thomas. The Washington playmaker shared a lot of respect for Metcalf, even revealing that his 15-year-old was a huge fan of the Seahawks weapon.
As soon as Metcalf heard this, you could almost see his plans crystallize in his eyes. He didn’t hesitate to take the jersey off his back and sign it to gift to Thomas and his son.

DK immediately took his jersey off and signed it for Logan's son. 💙🥹 (via @NFLFilms) pic.twitter.com/sORoWvMcaH

Aww. Man. That’s what it’s all about. Metcalf and Thomas’s teams might have been direct competitors on the field. But when the action is over, some things — like making a young man’s day — are so much bigger than any of the garden variety football.
